Disney...Day 4

Normally, the Galbraith fam is not a huge fan of the Animal Kingdom. It's always seemed like a bit of a glorified zoo. Perhaps, we are all growing up a bit, because we thoroughly enjoyed it this year. In fact I actually wished I had scheduled more time because we felt a bit rushed. Who knew!

That's Mt. Everest in the background. You can see the tracks emerging from the left. This was our first year to ride this coaster. It shoots you to the top of the mountain where the tracks "end" (as if you are going to plummet to your death) and then shoots you backwards. I love that everyone is finally tall enough and brave enough to give everything a whirl!

This was taken during the actual ride (thanks, John!). You can make out the back of Russ and Carter's heads. I wish I had audio to go with this one...insert major screams!

Gotta show Timon a little love!

Pounding out some "music" in Africa.

In front of the Tree of Life. Please note the appearance of my truck driver hat (the sun was beaming down, but not hot)! I promise I am going to buy a new one that is a bit more stylish...someday!

Close-up shot of the Tree of Life. We spent a good chunk of time pointing out different animals. The detail work is amazing.

I figured I needed to include one shot from the safari. Again, it's cool to ride through for a gander, but it's really just a fancy zoo.

In Nepal it is tradition to hang out rags to represent prayer requests. The rags are taken down when a prayer is answered. Thought this was pretty cool.

Around 5:00 we headed back to Hollywood Studios for our dinner reservation and the Fantasmic evening show. On our way to the restaurant, we encountered this incredible street performer. He was 100% improv and Carter loved him. He was laughing so hard he couldn't catch his breath! The funniest moment was when he asked Carter if he had a girlfriend. Naturally, Carter said, "NO!" To which the performer replied, "LIAR!"

A few moments later Carter asked him the same question. He replied, "Son, I've got a ring on every finger. A bride for 10 months!" Carter shouted, "LIAR!" You probably had to be there but it was pretty funny to see him holding his own with this actor. As a matter of fact, he gave Carter a medal for the being the "Most Precocious Child." He wore it like a badge of honor!

Posing with his brother and his medal in front of Sorcerer Mickey's Hat.

Eating dinner at the Primetime 50's Cafe. The food is sub par, but it's pretty cool to see all the sitcom kitchens.

Watching Fantasmic with 6,000 of our closest friends.

The show is largely pyrotechnics set on water set to music.

At the end of the show, a large ferry circle the moat and you can see ALL the Disney characters. A great way to end the night.
